I've got two suggestions for you all today. The first, you might have heard of, but the second, I doubt you have. The Most Serene Republic were named Spin's Band of the Day. Really, really good band, you all need to check them out, they're getting a lot of comparisons to Broken Social Scene and Death Cab for Cutie, but although I love both of those bands, I wouldn't quite pin them down to that. Nonetheless, they are DEFINITELY worth listening to. Their entire album is streaming on their website. Take a listen, you won't be disappointed.

Also, I found this great band, Blanks, from Cambridge, Massachusetts. A lot of fun to listen to. sounds like a mix between the talking heads, devo, bloc party (more in the feeling of urgency and post-punk rhythms), and, most importantly, crack. They don't have an album out yet, but are recording one, and they have some songs available to listen to on the net. You can find them at http://www.loveromp.com/ .
